About us
Through their many journeys and wonderful experiences, the hunters of Born to Hunt share their stories and their passion for the great outdoors. Their mission? To preserve a legacy. This year marks a milestone as the Born to Hunt team celebrates 10 years of filming.
Stories at Outfitters
Who could resist the chance to experience the great outdoors through hunting and fishing adventures in Quebec’s magnificent wilderness? The Québec Outfitters Federation (QOF) has played a key role in Born to Hunt’s production success, helping us reach this incredible 10-year milestone.
From our home base in Eastern Ontario, the Federation has enabled us to explore some of Quebec’s most stunning regions, including Outaouais, Laurentians, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, Québec/Charlevoix, Bas-Saint-Laurent, and Côte-Nord. All that’s left is the Far North, and then we’ll have explored the province from one end to the other. Along the way, we’ve created memories that will last a lifetime, capturing them on screen thanks to the hard work of our dedicated team.
The QOF offers access to over 330 outfitters, with 24 fish species and 20 game species, ensuring something for every outdoor enthusiast. The hunting and fishing are spectacular, but what stands out just as much are the shared experiences—swapping stories over a meal with friends or gathering around a crackling campfire.
Our journey began at Squaw Lake Outfitter, where Martin and Danielle welcomed us with open arms. I have great memories of the people we met there, especially an incredible musical performance delivered by father and son. I didn’t realize I was being entertained by none other than a member of the Franco-Ontarian band Les Rats d’Swompe! And let’s not forget the lucky hunter’s hat, made from a raccoon pelt from their trapline!
In Outaouais, we also enjoyed friendly competitions at Domaine Shannon. Let’s set the record straight—Sylvain wasn’t even close . . . I definitely caught the biggest fish! Then there was Pavillon Richer, where my younger brother Éric harvested a “small” 451-lb bear after passing up three others weighing over 300 lbs!

In Abitibi-Témiscamingue, we had an unforgettable father-son moose hunt at Pourvoirie du Lac Suzie, hosted by Stéphane Monette. The Marion brothers pulled off an impressive hunt by outsmarting a magnificent bull. Picture this: our cameraman was even more emotional than the hunter!
Then there was Poulin de Courval Outfitter, deep in the Monts-Valin, where Éric Lacelle let the biggest bull moose of his life walk away. To this day, he still has bad dreams about it!
The Laurentians have welcomed us time and again. Every destination has exceeded our expectations, fromClub Scott Outfitter, Notawissi Club, Pourvoirie Jodoin, Pourvoirie Mekoos, Le Triolet Outfitter, and Pourvoirie Cécaurel to Pourvoirie des 100 Lacs Sud. One truly memorable moment was when Miguel introduced a first-time hunter to bear hunting at 100 Lacs Sud. When she harvested her first game, her eyes lit up with amazement. That’s what it’s all about—passing on our love for hunting and fishing to the next generation.
There’s one other story that still stands out. At Pourvoirie des Bouleaux Blancs in Côte-Nord, our guide and outfitter owner Éric stunned us all. He managed to touch wild moose with his bare hands—four times! It was as if he belonged to their world, moving among them like one of their own.
These are just a few of the stories we’ve collected over the years. Thanks to the QOF and the dedicated outfitters across Quebec, Born to Hunt has experienced some of the most thrilling hunting and fishing adventures imaginable. Now it’s your turn. Book your trip, put your trust in these expert outfitters and create your own lasting memories!
