Unforgettable Encounters

Our many trips to outfitters across Quebec have been filled with memorable encounters, great times and breathtaking scenery. What stands out in every visit is the warm hospitality and deep knowledge of the people we meet. We’ve been fortunate to explore a wide range of destinations and have seen how each outfitter in Quebec has something unique to offer, whether it’s vast hunting grounds or waters teeming with fish.

One of our most memorable trips was on the Bonaventure River at Pourvoirie Destination Le Mirage. From the moment we arrived, Martin Poisson and his team made us feel right at home. This wasn’t just any fishing trip—it was a true salmon hunt. Our days started with spotting salmon as they made their way upriver, a task that required patience and focus. Once we located them, half the battle was won; the next step was to position our lines strategically and cover the fishing area.

That trip on the Bonaventure rewarded us with an incredible catch—a salmon over 20 pounds, one of the ten biggest our guide Martin had ever seen in that river. And that was just the beginning. Each member of our group had the thrill of battling powerful, ocean-fresh salmon, experiencing the kind of adrenaline-pumping fights that stay forever in your mind. But it’s not just about the fishing; it’s also about these enthusiastic people who make the experience so unforgettable—their love for nature and tall tales of time spent in the wilderness.

Over the years, we’ve visited countless outfitters across Quebec, and every time we’ve been impressed by the warmth and professionalism of the teams on-site. Whether in the rugged mountains of Charlevoix or along peaceful shores in Mauricie, every outfitter we’ve met shares a deep passion for their work. They’ve told us incredible stories—some humorous, others touching, but always genuine. Their profound respect for nature is reflected in everything they do. While working alongside these dedicated professionals, we’ve uncovered some of Quebec’s hidden gems—remote places where time seems to slow down.

Another cherished memory is a recent family trip to Lanaudière, where we introduced our two 7-year-olds to the joys of fishing. For them, fishing was like a game in which even the smallest catches were proudly shown off. Their goal was simple: to catch and cook their own meal. Every time they felt a tug on the line, their eyes lit up with excitement.

This family experience perfectly captures what we love most about Quebec’s network of outfitters: being able to share our passion with loved ones and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Every trip to an outfitter is an opportunity to reconnect with nature, explore new horizons and, most importantly, enjoy unforgettable moments with family and friends.
