Additional Information

Waskaganish is easily accessible by road. 1) The James Bay Highway (the northernmost paved road in Eastern Canada) starts in Matagami and goes to Radisson. This route is the most common route for travelers passing through Val D'or or Amos. 2) The North Road is a secluded gravel road that connects Chibogamau to the James Bay Highway (French: Route de la Baie James) at km 275. It is 407 kilometers (253 mi) long and entirely unpaved. A detour en route to Waskaganish allows you to visit the Cree community of Nemaska, located on Champion Lake.
