As of May 20, 2020, it will be possible to practise daily fishing in Quebec outfitters.
Fishing enthusiasts will be able to leave their homes and go fishing for a day and breathe fresh air.
Normally, over a hundred outfitters offer daily fishing. However, due to COVID-19, several other dozen outfitters could also offer this activity to local communities while waiting for the return of vacationers. This is why we invite you to contact the outfitters directly for more information about their services in the COVID-19 situation.
With over 300 outfitters in more than ten regions of Quebec, the outfitters’ offer is exhaustive and the Vacation Planner is certainly the best way to help you planning your fishing trip. You will be able to search according to your region, the maximum distance you wish to travel and/or the fish specie to catch.
Outfitters Are Ready to Welcome You
The outfitters have put in place hygienic measures in order to receive you in a safe manner in accordance to the Public Health requirements. From the reception desk to the fish house, including the boat, oars, motors, etc., you can be certain that everything is regularly cleaned and sanitized so that you can enjoy your fishing day in complete peace of mind.
Health and Safety Is Everyone’s Business
If the outfitters are working hard to welcome you safely, you can also do your part:
- Please cancel your reservation if you experience symptoms related to COVID-19, such as fever, cough and sore throat.
- If possible, pay the total amount of the bill before your arrival or plan to pay by credit/debit card once you arrive at the outfitter.
- Be sure to purchase your fishing licence and lunch close to your home.
- Avoid non-essential stopovers on the road.
- Plan a small cooler per person and several containers for your bait.
- Bring your personal flotation devices.
When you arrive at the outfitter, use the disinfection and/or hand-washing stations. Please note that only one client at a time will be allowed at the reception desk as well as the fish house.
At all times, make sure to respect a distance of 2 metres (6 feet) from employees and other clients.
When you get home, share your day’s memories with us on the Facebook page @outfitters!
If you experience symptoms related to COVID-19 within 14 days of your homecoming, please notify the outfitter as soon as possible.
Note: Sanitary blocks must remain closed until further notice.Whether we call it “day fishing” or “daily fishing”, the principle remains the same. You leave in the morning in the direction of your outfitters and once your fishing day is over, you return home.
