Fishing - Yellow perch in Quebec's Outfitters

Identification

Body shape :  Elongate, oval, typically higher than wide

Average size :  10 to 25 cm (4 to 10 in), 50 to 200 g (2 to 7 oz)

Coloration :  Typically dark green to golden-brown back, greenish-yellow flanks; back color progresses to side color in 7 wide vertical bands; pelvic and anal fins located at edge of operculum; bright orange pelvic and anal fins.

 

External characteristics :  2 well-separated dorsal fins, the first with 23 to 15 spines and the second soft-rayed; numerous small teeth; small spine at edge of operculum.
